We are a group of martial artists learning Shotokan Karate - a traditional style of karate that focuses on powerful movements and low stances. Shotokan is an excellent form of self defense that is a blend of two traditional schools of Okinawan karate: Shorin, characterized by light, flexible movements, and Shorei, emphasizing strength in movement. The result is fast, powerful movements with an emphasis on good form and equal usage of foot and hand techniques. One of the results of daily karate practice is a strong, healthy body and the knowledge of how to protect yourself in a variety of situations. We are also an official ISKF (International Shotokan Karate Federation)
club - that means we do a lot of fun activities like belt testing, tournaments, camps, and more. As a club we welcome any individual who would like to try martial arts. This includes students, faculty, staff, children and non-students who reside in the Columbus area.
