Who Are We?
We are a group of martial artists learning Shotokan Karate - a traditional style of karate that focuses on powerful movements and low stances. Shotokan is an excellent form of self defense that is a blend of two traditional schools of Okinawan karate: Shorin, characterized by light, flexible movements, and Shorei, emphasizing strength in movement. The result is fast, powerful movements with an emphasis on good form and equal usage of foot and hand techniques. One of the results of daily karate practice is a strong, healthy body and the knowledge of how to protect yourself in a variety of situations. As an official ISKF (International Shotokan Karate Federation) club, we have access to high level instruction, competition, and ranking recognized throughout the nation and in over 40 member countries.

As a club we welcome any individual who would like to try martial arts, regardless of style, organization, or background. This includes students, faculty, staff,  and non-students who reside in the Columbus area.
